Educators Interest Group The Educators Interest Group enables members in academia to increase their exposure to trends, issues, and opportunities, and to share their particular expertise and experiences with others having similar interests.
Connecticut Accounting Educator E-Bulletin Connecticut Accounting Educator is produced by the CSCPA. It is a "quick read" e-bulletin intended to keep post-secondary accounting faculty in the loop with the profession of Certified Public Accounting and information, programs and resources associated with the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Financial Literacy Program - "Me, Myself, My Money" Financial Literacy Curriculum and Speakers
"Me, Myself, My Money,” commissioned by the CSCPA and underwritten in part with the support of select local community banks, was created specifically for Connecticut students in order to introduce, educate, and increase awareness of basic financial concepts necessary for responsible personal financial management. All materials associated with “Me, Myself, My Money” are available from CSCPA and are free of charge to any Connecticut educator.

2009 Trends: Supply of Accounting Graduates and the Demand for Public Accounting Recruits Report (pdf) - This report prepared by the AICPA is produced to provide guidance and information to various stakeholders and interested parties - colleges and universities with accounting curricula, CPA firms that hire graduates, as well as business, industry, and governments that employ accounting professionals. The last survey was published in 2008 and this version attempts to identify key trends in accounting enrollment, graduation, and hiring through the 2007-2008 academic year.
Startheregoplaces.com - Great AICPA-produced site for high school and college students to learn more about the CPA profession. This interactive site includes a full glossary and games such as "Catch Me If You Can," "Bizz Fun," and "Money Means Business." The newest offering is "The Turnaround Game," an online business simulation game that takes students inside the world of the music industry and players take on the role of a consultant CPA, whose challenge is to save a failing record company - Big Noizz. The game has three levels, and at each level players must advise the CEO on all key business issues and provide the winning proposal that will bring the company back to the top. Students, by using their analytical and problem-solving skills, learn about an exciting career path for CPAs.

AICPA Accounting Education Center - The Accounting Education Center was created and is maintained by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified of Public Accountants) Academic & Career Development Team. It is committed to providing educators with the resources to enhance the accounting and business curriculum and to prepare students to become valued and trusted members of the CPA profession.
Core Competency Framework - The AICPA Core Competency Framework, developed by educators for educators, defines a set of skills-based competencies needed by all students entering the accounting profession, regardless of the career path they choose (public/industry/government/nonprofit) or the specific accounting services they will perform.
Educational Competency Assessment (ECA) - The AICPA provides this resource to help educators integrate the skills-based competencies needed by entry-level accounting professionals. The ECA website contains a library that, in addition to the Core Competency Database and Education Strategies, provides information and guidance on Evaluating Competency Coverage and Assessing Student Performance.
Case Studies - More than 100 real-world cases can be searched according to course and Core Competency. Cases are available in the following courses: Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Accounting, Assurance Services, Auditing, Cost Accounting, Ethics, Policy and Governance, Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Fraud, Governmental Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Not-for-Profit Accounting, and Taxation.
"Takin' Care of Business" Education Handbook - 15 AICPA-produced lesson plans intended to show students that accounting goes beyond "debits and credits" and that CPAs are engaged in all aspects of business, not just auditing and taxation. Each lesson plan is based on education learning standards set forth by the National Business Education Association (NBEA) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Each lesson plan also has skill-based components called Performance Measures and Standards—the skills that students should develop prior to graduating high school.
