CSCPA Announces 2006-2007 Leadership

For release: 2006

The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) has elected its leadership for the 2006-2007 activity year as follows: 

President – Alan J. Clavette, CPA of Sandy Hook
Mr. Clavette is managing member of the Newtown CPA firm of Clavette Josselyn & Co., LLC.   

President-elect – John J. Palmeri, CPA, LL.M. of Cheshire
Mr. Palmeri is member/manager of John J. Palmeri, Attorney at Law, LLC in Cheshire.

Treasurer – John J. Turgeon, CPA of Enfield
Mr. Turgeon is Director, U.S. Experienced Recruiting Center of Excellence in the Hartford office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Secretary – Gregory A. Lainas, CPA of Plantsville
Mr. Lainas is a Division Director in the Hartford office of Robert Half Management Resources.

The CPA society also elected four members to serve respective three-year terms on its 17-member Board of Governors, including:

Scott R. Colvin, CPA of Huntington
Mr. Colvin is a Professor of Accounting at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury as well as a member of the Huntington firm of Scott R. Colvin, CPA, LLC and the Trumbull firm of Valuation Advisors, LLC.

Ann D. Jevne, CPA, PFS, CFP, CDS, AEP of Westport
Ms. Jevne is a partner in the Norwalk CPA firm of Schwartz & Hofflich, LLP.

Marcia L. Marien, CPA of Norwich
Ms. Marien is managing partner of the Norwich CPA firm of Marien & Company, LLC.  

Jay M. Sattler, CPA of Glastonbury
Mr. Sattler is a partner in the West Hartford CPA firm of Blum, Shapiro & Company, P.C.  

In addition, CSCPA Immediate Past President Patricia M. Poli, CPA, Ph.D. of Newtown will assume a seat on the CSCPA Board of Governors for a one-year term.  Ms. Poli is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Fairfield University. 

Election of the Society’s leadership for the current activity year took place at the CSCPA Annual Meeting held recently at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. The Connecticut Society of CPAs is celebrating its 98th year of service to membership and community alike.  CSCPA has a current membership of more than 6,000 individuals in public practice, business and industry, government, and education.  Its function is to provide continuing professional education opportunities, a comprehensive peer review program, and a variety of membership services for CPAs in Connecticut.
