"120/150 Bill" Clears Committee on Higher Ed
On March 1, 2007, the Committee on Higher Education and Employment Advancement took action on Raised Senate Bill No. 1141, “An Act Concerning the Educational Requirements for Applying to take the Certified Public Accountant Examination,” voting the bill out of committee on consent, meaning the bill met unanimous approval.
The committee action follows the February 22 public hearing on the bill.
Raised Senate Bill No. 1141 would allow CPA Exam candidates to begin sitting for the Exam upon conferral of a bachelor’s degree while maintaining the requirement of the fifth year of college study (30 credit hours) for certification and licensing as a Connecticut CPA.
The CSCPA will post further developments regarding Raised Senate Bill 1141 here as they develop.
