Public accounting salaries ranged from:
- In public accounting (audit, tax, and management services): $47,750 - $60,500 (small firm) to $53,000- $67,250 (medium firm) to $58,750– $75,250 (large firm) for individuals with one to three years of experience. Individuals with graduate degrees and/or professional certifications, such as the CPA certification, generally earn 10 percent more.
- As for long-term growth potential, managers/directors can expect salaries of $86,750 - $121,750 (small firms) to $96,500 - $149,000 (medium firms) to $108,000 - $175,000 (large firms).
Business and industry accounting salaries ranged from:
- In business and industry (general, tax, and cost accountants): $39,750- $52,750 (small company) to $47,250- $67,250 (large company) for individuals with one to three years of experience.
- Auditors (Internal, IT): $51,000 - $78,500 (mid-sized company) to $55,000 - $85,750 (large company) for individuals with one to three years of experience.
- Financial, budget, treasury, and cost analysts earn $47,750 – $64,500 (mid-size company) to $50,500 - $69,500 (large company) with one to three years of experience. Those with graduate degrees and professional certifications can generally earn 10 percent more as well.
