I haven't gotten my confirmation postcard in the mail. How do I know if I'm registered?
With the advent of our state-of-the-art website and commitment to online communication, we are no longer sending paper confirmations unless there is no email address on file. If you supply an email address, you will receive an email confirmation upon your purchase.

How do I register for a continuing professional education program?
There are three easy ways to register: online, fax, or mail. When registering, include a daytime telephone number so you can be notified of course changes. Full payment must accompany all registrations. Checks, MasterCard, Visa, and American Express are accepted.

Is there an advantage to registering early?
YES. Early registrations can save you money and avoid cancellation of a course. We recommend registering at least two weeks prior to the scheduled date of a CPE program. CSCPA is obligated to cancel presentations with low enrollments several days before the event date. By registering early, you'll help ensure adequate advanced enrollment so the course will run as scheduled.
If your registration and payment are received before the early bird expiration date, you'll also receive the "Early Bird" discount! If you register online, you can also still receive the "Plan and Save" discount.
Will I save money if I register online?
YES. Now, if you register through our brand-new website, you can save up to $150! Save yourself the hassle of long forms - and save yourself money!
Which fee do I pay?
The member fee is extended to the following CSCPA membership categories as well as members of any state CPA society:
- Fellow: A CPA with a certificate issued by the State of Connecticut.
- Associate: A CPA whose certificate was issued by a state other than Connecticut, and who has not achieved reciprocity.
- International: Equivalent of a CPA of any country other than the United States.
- Affiliate: A candidate who has passed all parts of the CPA examination but has not yet received a certificate from any state.
- CPA Candidate Pledge: An aspiring CPA who's working in a firm, has had a bachelor's degree for no more than five years, and has not yet passed the CPA Exam.
Additionally, the CSCPA offers a CPE Subscription Program for nonmembers.
What does my registration fee cover?
Quality CPE, all course materials, and lunch and break refreshments.
What is the CPE Subscriber Program?
This program, created to give Society members more value, is available to CSCPA member employees who do not qualify for membership in the Society as a Fellow, Associate, International, Affiliate, or Pledge. For an annual fee of $140 per individual, nonmembers can enjoy CSCPA member pricing for all professional education programs for one year. For an enrollment form, click here.
Can I register now and bring a check to the course?
No. Full payment must accompany all registrations.
Can I go to the course as a walk-in?
Yes, however, we can not guarantee your spot in the course or course materials. Walk-in registrants must bring full payment with them.
Can I go to courses in other New England states?
Absolutely!

Where can I find driving directions to Connecticut CPE?
There are driving directions to The CPA Center as well as many other potential class locations online.
What if I have a dietary requirement or special need?
If you have special needs, indicate them on your registration form or call the Society one week prior to the program.
What happens if I have to cancel?
Cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the program date. Refund requests will be charged a $20 processing fee. Cancellations received less than seven days before the program date will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within three business days before a course date. Course material will be automatically sent to you after the presentation date.
Is it possible to transfer to another program instead of canceling?
YES. Transfers must be made at least one week prior to the program date to avoid any penalty; to transfer your registration, call the CPE department at 860-258-4800.
Can I send a substitute?
YES. Your registration can be transferred to another person if you are unable to attend a program. CPE credit will be given to the person who attends the program. Substitutions may be handled at registration the day of the program.
What happens if CSCPA cancels a program?
If a program is canceled you will be notified directly by phone. Full refunds will be granted. Your early registration can help us to avoid canceling a program.
Can I order a program manual without attending a course?
Seminar materials are designed to be used in a group setting. Materials distributed through the CSCPA that are designed for use at programs are not available for individual purchase. Conference/technical session materials may be purchased after the program date. Contact the CSCPA CPE office to order these course materials.
The weather is bad. Is my class going to cancel?
CSCPA rarely cancels scheduled seminars due to inclement weather. Specific information regarding possible cancellations and delays will be available on the CPE voice mail system by 6 a.m. the morning of the program. Call 860-258-4800.
Can I get a credit summary of classes I have completed?
CSCPA members can view and print credit summary reports on the CSCPA website. Simply login using your user name and password and click on CPE Transcript.
Can I use my cell phones and/or messaging systems?
The use of audible ringing cell phones and messaging systems are prohibited and must be turned off during CPE programs.
What is the dress code?
Our dress code is business casual. Meeting room temperatures are difficult to control. For your comfort, we recommend dressing in layers to accommodate typical variations in meeting room temperatures.
Do you cover travel expenses?
The CSCPA does not assume responsibility for travel or hotel expenses related to society-sponsored programs.
